Presentation of DECA Project Results at the KLEAS Meeting in Ptuj

At the meeting of the Consortium of Local Energy Agencies (KLEAS), held in Ptuj, the key results of the project DECA – Danube Energy Communities Accelerator were presented. The project aims to promote the development of energy communities across the Danube Region.

The presentation highlighted that energy communities represent an important mechanism for social transformation, as they enable the decentralisation of decision-making and give local communities a stronger role in managing energy resources. It was also emphasised that energy agencies are one of the key stakeholders in this process, playing a crucial role in providing technical support, advisory services, coordination, and capacity building at the local and regional level.

The training programme for capacity development of local stakeholders was presented, along with the Community Energy Project Pipelines Toolkit, which provides a structured methodological framework for developing energy communities from the initial idea to project implementation.

Special attention was also given to the Policy Lab Insights Report, which analyses legal frameworks and implementation barriers in nine Danube Region countries and emphasizes the need to ensure the inclusion of vulnerable groups.

The event concluded with an invitation to participate in further project activities and to strengthen cooperation among municipalities, energy agencies, civil society, businesses, and citizens committed to a community-based energy future.
