The technological tools – the shared Balkan-Carpathian-Dinaric GIS database, the online viewer and the digital Twin Model upscale existing solutions and will be accessible through the Data Catalogue and the Geoportal of the Carpathian Countries Integrated Biodiversity Information System – CCIBIS, based on open source that will allow policy, NGO and academia to continue using it. The guidelines will be utilized by the member countries of the Carpathian Convention and through the Carpathian Network of Protected Areas and Network of Protected Areas Dinarides. The tools will help forest and protected areas managers to visualise complexity of ongoing processes and implement climate-resilient measures. This, combined with solutions tested in the pilot areas – restoration of wood pastures and meadows, planting of native trees and vegetation -.will ensure managers have a powerful tool for verifying and optimising conservation interventions to respond to the new climate-induced challenges.
