Result 1
By the end of the project, the ICPDR will possess and use a fully operative transnational HS database, coupled with a data-processing and pollution assessment package. It will enable generating a long-term transparent, harmonized and consistent inventory of emissions and pollution, detecting and quantifying trends of HS occurrence and concentration levels, and generating the input and validation data for emission and water quality modelling. Besides the importance of the transnational perspective, this database and the derived analyses can bridge temporarily the gap for the countries in which the implementation process for their national tools requires more time. This result significantly contributes to Actions 1 and 7 of EUSDR PA4, namely to support ICPDR in further developing water information systems in the Danube Region, to determine sources and pathways of hazardous and emerging substances emissions and to comprehensively evaluate measures efficiency.
