By the end of the project, nine organizations will have adopted the specific national specific solutions implementing the operative HS databases, coupled with data-processing and pollution assessment packages. In doing this, they will have fostered the digitization process in their institutions. These solutions will aid in carrying out efficient management and transparent documentation of data and metadata, in generating long-term consistent inventories of HS emissions, occurrence and concentration of HS across compartment, in performing trend analyses and in generating input and validation data for emission and water quality modelling. These tools will also largely improve and facilitate the exchange of information and the reporting across countries and between national and transnational level. This result contributes thus significantly to Actions 1 and 7 of EUSDR PA4, in particular to determine relevant sources and pathways of HS and emerging substances.
