EU Mobility Week in Sremska Mitrovica

Weekend behind us in Sremska Mitrovica was ALL in the sign of European Mobility Week! Within a unique event called CENTRE WITHOUT CARS – SIRMIUM ON BIKE WHEELS, the City of Sremska Mitrovica in collaboration with the Tourism Board and the Bicycle Initiative Sremska Mitrovica, promoted traffic safety and sustainable urban mobility. With children as actors of most activities, the event was full of joy and laughter, bringing color to the gloomy upcoming autumn days. Here is a short overview of what went down:

1. Presentation of mobile training ground involving children of 3+ age showing off their bike skills and learning a couple of new ones which can increase their safety in traffic.

2. Mobile training ground for children from 7 to 15 and the quiz titled What do you know about traffic? to boost thinking and acquiring new knowledge on traffic and safety rules.

3. Bicycle race for the youngest participants titled Slow race.

4. Presentation of ARCHEOBIKE route featuring tourist guides on bikes talking about cultural heritage of Sirmium at the same time exploring cyclist friendly solutions for promotion of Sremska Mitrovica tourism potential.

5. Exhibition of unusual pedal vehicles and children’s art works on the topic of cycling.
