🎤 Meet our keynote speaker – Beatrice Barone

As part of the “Liveable streets for everyone: innovative urban development solutions” conference, we are excited to welcome Beatrice Barone, architect and urban researcher working at the intersection of public space, mobility, and community life.

With experience from the University of Architecture of Porto, Politecnico di Milano, and currently at AMAT – Mobility, Environment and Territory Agency of the City of Milan, Beatrice brings deep expertise in housing policies, shared spaces, and neighbourhood-scale urban design.

💡 In her presentation, she will introduce the Piazze Aperte program in Milan, a powerful example of how tactical urbanism can transform streets into safer, more inclusive, and vibrant public spaces through:

  • low-cost, temporary interventions

  • community-led activation

  • co-design and participatory processes
