LEAP and GeoZS hosted the Danube GeoHeCo project stakeholder kick-off meeting
The Local Energy Agency for Pomurje and the Geological Survey of Slovenia organized the kick-off meeting for the stakeholders group of Danube GeoHeCo project on December 11, 2024, in Martjanci (Slovenia). The event aimed to present the project's activities and the role of stakeholders in promoting shallow geothermal hybrid heating and cooling systems in the Pomurje region.
The meeting was attended by stakeholders from various sectors, who expressed interest in collaborating on the deployment desks. The agenda included an introduction to the GeoHeCo project, the significance of shallow geothermal energy for local communities, and the upcoming activities for the first half of 2025. Additionally, participants were briefed on the methodology and role of stakeholders, as well as the pilot project to transition a heating system from fossil fuels and biomass to a geothermal-based hybrid system.
The event also fostered networking opportunities, with participants sharing ideas and suggestions for the successful implementation of the project. This meeting marked the beginning of the collaborative efforts under the national deployment desks, setting the stage for future activities in the third period of the project.
