Second Meeting of Project Partners on the Danube GeoHeCo Project Held
Project partners gathered in Nagyatad (Hungary), from October 29 to 30, 2024, for the second meeting of the project "Fostering the implementation of shallow geothermal hybrid heating and cooling systems in the Danube Region– Danube GeoHeCo."
The second meeting of the Danube GeoHeCo project, hosted by CROST Regional Development Nonprofit Ltd. (Hungary) provided an opportunity for 13 partners from eight countries in the Danube region to discuss the activities to be completed by the end of 2024. Through presentations of achieved results and planned project activities, the Danube GeoHeCo project partners identified priority steps for the project's implementation.
At the beginning of the first day of the meeting, the mayor of Nagyatad, Mr. Laszlo Ludas, welcomed the project partners. According to the meeting agenda, the focus was on the development of an IT tool that supports the design and optimization of hybrid hydrothermal systems with shallow geothermal sources. The Beta version of the tool will be made available to project partners for testing at their pilot sites. Additionally, discussions were held on conducting "deployment desk" meetings with relevant stakeholders according to the established Community-based transnational planning model for fostering shallow geothermal energy utilisation in hybrid heating and cooling systems. Also, the discussions aimed at identifying and involving key actors in the heating and cooling market for the implementation of hybrid geothermal HC systems.
The second day of the project meeting included presentations of achieved and planned results related to dissemination and communication, as well as project management activities.
At the end of the meeting, project partners had the opportunity to visit locations with established geothermal heating systems in Nagyatad, further enhancing their practical understanding of the technologies in this area.
This meeting strengthened collaboration among partners and facilitated the exchange of experiences that will contribute to the successful implementation of the Danube GeoHeCo project.
