As part of the Danube GeoHeCo project, the first deployment desk meeting was held in Budapest on 4 March 2025, organised by CROST Nonprofit Ltd.

Following the welcome speech of Annamária Nádor, PA2 coordinator of the European Union Strategy for the Danube Region, on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade as co-organiser, and Viktor Horváth, Deputy State Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, the objectives of the Danube GeoHeCo project, the planned activities and the tasks of the working group were presented. The other Hungarian partner of the project, InnoGeo Nonprofit Ltd., presented the planned pilot investment in Szeged.

In the second half of the event, in order to lay the foundations for the transnational action plan to be prepared under the coordination of CROST, the participants reviewed the advantages of the use of geothermal heat pumps, the related problems, challenges and possible solutions, in form of an interactive workshop. The priorities of the future action plan will be developed by the partners during the international project meeting to be held in Bratislava on 21 March 2025, which will be followed by another round of national working group meetings.
