Slovenian Living Lab for the pilot project

Slovenian Institute for Sustainable Development held on 19 December 2024 the first Living Lab event
for their  pilot project of establishing an ERP scheme in Slovenia.

That made a a step forward together with #ISD and #ZavodKNOF that join them  in #TEX-DAN

activities for fostering business circular models in textile and fashion industry.

Event gathered  stakeholders from diverse sectors, including collection and reuse centers, utility companies, economic support agencies, NGOs, and SMEs.

The joint goal was  to define the framework for establishing a national Extended producer
responsibility (EPR) scheme for textiles.

The participants defined three major points:

  • Consensus on building a network and forming a Producer Responsibility Organization for textiles in Slovenia;

  • Mapped out opportunities to maximize the value of discarded textile, exploring reuse, repair, and recycling before damping it to landfills or incineration;

  • Identified actionable next steps and future collaboration opportunities between stakeholders.

In addition they  explored the legal framework and identified ways to create a shared ecosystem where textile producers and processors can align on common goals.
The aim of   is to extend the lifecycle of garments and textiles, transforming them into valuable
resources rather than treat it like waste.

The living lab moto is: With the support of collection, reuse, repair, and recycling operators,
this vision can become a reality.
If you're passionate about creating a circular economy for textiles, we’d love to hear from you!
