First meeting of the Slovenian Innovation Group in Trbovlje
As part of the WIN project, which aims to improve the position of women in peripheral industrial regions, WIN Innovation Groups are being established in seven pilot countries across the Danube Region (Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Serbia, and Slovenia). These groups are key to the project's mission of fostering social innovation and green initiatives, which are critical for sustainable development. By focusing on innovative approaches, the WIN project aims to empower women, improve their employability, and promote sustainable economic growth.
WIN Innovation Groups will serve as platforms for co-creation, bringing together diverse stakeholders to develop practical solutions to the challenges faced by women in local labour markets. With an emphasis on the green transition, these groups will play a pivotal role in identifying opportunities for entrepreneurship and job creation in sustainable industries. They will also help shape local and regional strategies that diversify economies and promote social innovation, ultimately supporting women’s inclusion and leadership in the labour market.
The first Slovenian meeting of the WIN Innovation Group which aims to develop innovative solutions to improve the position of women in the labour market, took place yesterday, at the Trbovlje Youth, Sports, and Tourism Institute.
The meeting brought together members of the interdisciplinary group who, through introductory presentations and discussion, identified the key challenges women face in employment. The main topics included the presentation of statistical data, the analysis of existing policies, and the definition of the target group. In the coming months, WIN will design and test solutions to help empower women and increase labour market inclusion.
Through ongoing collaboration and the development of social innovations, the WIN Innovation Groups are poised to make a lasting impact on the employability and economic participation of women in peripheral industrial regions.
