The AVIATOR project introduces three innovative solutions to enhance bird of prey protection in the Danube Region (DR). Solution 1, tested by three PPs, develops novel vaccination methods for captive birds to improve their immune response to West Nile Virus (WNV). The trials will provide guidelines for adoption by wildlife centers and veterinary authorities. Solution 2, tested by four PPs, evaluates upgraded vector suppression strategies to reduce the spread of vector-borne diseases in high-risk migratory areas. Results will support future vector management programs. The project will also establish a Birds of Prey Platform to share findings, best practices, and foster collaboration with stakeholders. A structured reporting framework will monitor the adoption and scaling of solutions for broader implementation and policy integration across the DR and beyond.
