AVIATOR

What is our goal?

AVIATOR strengthens the resilience of birds of prey across the Danube Region by improving how we detect, prevent, and reduce infectious and parasitic diseases. We combine monitoring, expert exchange, and pilot actions to support healthier raptor populations and protect biodiversity.

How will we accomplish it?

We connect veterinary expertise, conservation practice, and public authorities across borders. AVIATOR supports shared tools, stakeholder cooperation, and knowledge exchange so prevention measures can be applied consistently across the Danube Region.

Why is that important?

Birds of prey are key indicators of ecosystem health. Disease risks can rise with environmental change, pressure on habitats, and shifting wildlife interactions. Early detection and prevention help protect raptors and the wider natural balance they support.
