Bridging Innovation and Industry: A Practical Guide to Tech Transfer

The Interreg-funded project CapTTict hosted an online workshop titled "Bridging Innovation and Industry: A Practical Guide to Tech Transfer" on November 27th, 2024. The workshop, led by Dr. Florin Păun, was designed to provide participants with actionable insights into effective technology transfer practices.

The event attracted a diverse audience of researchers, start-up representatives, and corporate stakeholders, offering a platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration. Participants delved into key topics such as the fundamentals of tech transfer, the roles of various actors within the ecosystem, and practical strategies to overcome common challenges such as the "Valley of Death" in innovation processes. The interactive nature of the workshop allowed attendees to engage deeply with case studies and real-world examples, gaining valuable insights directly applicable to their work.

A major highlight of the session was the discussion on the Open Innovation Funnel and the entry points for R&D labs into industrial programs. Dr. Păun emphasized the importance of aligning incentives and motivations across different stakeholders, offering a brief guide on best practices for technology transfer.

The workshop aligns with CapTTict's mission to strengthen technology transfer capacities across the Danube region, enhancing the collaboration between research institutions, start-ups, and SMEs.
