Danube Social Innovation Summit - Sarajevo April 2026

At the Social Innovation Summit in Sarajevo (21–23 April), partners from across the Danube Region came together for the final edition of the summit within the Caring Communities Project, creating a valuable space to reflect, connect, and look ahead.

The event started with inspiring remarks from Mr. Johannes Gabriel, setting the tone for meaningful discussions and collaboration.

✨ Day 1 focused on progress and insights
We explored key updates from accelerator teams, research and social innovation labs, and platform developments. The day concluded with a reflective focus group session, looking at how the project has evolved and how challenges have shaped the journey.

💡 Day 2 was dedicated to dialogue and exchange
Participants engaged in open discussions on how AI can support innovation and how ideas take shape within local communities. the day conclude with a visit to an elderly center where the participants discovered more about their activities.

🤝 More than just discussions
Throughout the summit, partners worked together to explore the future of care for older people and those in need. The program went beyond professional exchange, participants also discovered practical, working solutions within local social institutions.

A clear conclusion emerged: good examples already exist. The real challenge lies in connecting them and ensuring their long-term sustainability.

✨ This summit was more than an event—it was a shared experience of learning, collaboration, and inspiration. A reminder that real impact happens when we bring people, ideas, and solutions together.
