Workshop 9: Homecare and Community-based Services for Older Persons in Bosnia and Herzegovina: Policies, Practices and Future Directions

A successful and inspiring workshop on community-based care for older persons in Bosnia and Herzegovina brought together experts, institutions, civil society organizations, service providers, and innovators to discuss how we can better support people as they age.

Throughout the event, participants explored important topics including demographic changes, homecare services, the care workforce, social protection reforms, healthy ageing, and the role of technology in improving care and support services.

The discussions showed that community-based care is becoming increasingly important in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Participants shared practical experiences, innovative solutions, and examples of services that help older persons remain active, independent, and connected to their communities.

One clear message emerged: building stronger care systems for the future will require continued cooperation between public institutions, service providers, international organizations, civil society, and innovators.

A big thank you to all speakers and participants for making the event such a success and for contributing to this important conversation.
