TIP | 5 Module offline | Brașov
Under the theme Caring Communities, Brașov recently hosted representatives from nine countries in the Danube Region for the final in-person module of the Transnational Innovation Programme (TIP), funded under the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR).
The TIP program brings together NGOs and public institutions interested in social innovation, particularly in home care and community services. Over the past year, ten teams formed through a matchmaking process to become transnational, sharing ideas and collaborating to develop services and products that support inclusive, caring communities.
Simona Ciuraru, Innovation Manager of the Caring Communities Project, shared:
"During this final module, we reflected on the progress made by the teams, shared ideas, created videos to showcase their solutions, and discussed potential partnerships or funding opportunities to bring these ideas to life."
Teams developed ideas ranging from applications linking volunteer services with social activities for older adults, to combined day centers and recovery centers, aiming to tackle the growing epidemic of loneliness among the elderly.
Participants also enjoyed local food, explored Brașov’s history, and engaged in feedback sessions to identify improvements for future work.
Coordinated by the Mozaik Foundation (Bosnia-Herzegovina) and the Diakonie Baden Foundation (Germany), the Caring Communities Project continues to advance home care and community services across the Danube Region through innovation, collaboration, and transnational knowledge exchange.
