Publication of Process-based Protocol

We have just published the process-based protocol, offering a fresh way to look at cultural accessibility across the Danube Region. Instead of treating accessibility like a regulatory checklist, this new guide views culture as a shared, community-driven experience that can lead to a just and green economic transition.

This publication is the result of a collaboration involving 14 partners across ten countries. Real-world testing has already taken place in 11 different locations, proving that culture-led initiatives can revitalize public spaces, bring people closer together and attract meaningful investment.

For local organizations and municipalities, the protocol acts as a practical handbook. It helps teams develop the skills needed to become changemakers, design more inclusive tourism services and boost local economies by making neighbourhoods vibrant places to live and work. It also gives socially responsible providers a platform to expand their regional networks and increase their visibility.

Structurally, the protocol guides users through a flexible sequence. It starts with mapping out the local ecosystem and forming dedicated Community Action Groups, which then work together to co-design and monitor local cultural actions. Because every community is different, the guide avoids one-size-fits-all solutions, leaving plenty of room for reflection, learning and local adaptation.

The full protocol is now available for partners and stakeholders looking to use culture as a tool for lasting social and economic growth.
