EU Mobility Week in Bucharest
Urbasofia's project team actively participated in the European Union Mobility Week initiatives hosted in Bucharest, engaging in the conference titled "Urban Mobility and Reorganization of Public Space: Prioritizing Sustainable Transport - The Shared-Space Model." This event served as a platform for dialogue and collaboration, bringing together a diverse range of stakeholders, including officials responsible for public transportation in Bucharest, representatives from local and regional public administrations, academics, and professionals from institutions specializing in urban mobility and transportation systems. The discussions during the conference were focused on evaluating the current measures that have been undertaken to facilitate the transition towards sustainable mobility. Additionally, the participants explored future strategies and policies designed to further improve the accessibility, efficiency, and attractiveness of public transport within the city.
As part of the European Mobility Week activities in Bucharest, a series of events and actions were organized to raise awareness about the importance of sustainable mobility and to highlight the ongoing evolution of the city's transportation infrastructure. These activities included educational programs on road safety aimed specifically at children, outdoor sports events designed to promote active mobility, as well as exhibitions that featured both vintage and modern public transport vehicles, showcasing the technological advancements and historical progression of the city's transport systems. Such initiatives were intended not only to engage the public but also to foster a broader cultural shift towards more sustainable modes of urban transportation.
