The first steps of Danube Indeet
Danube Indeet Kick-Off Meeting
The first meeting of Danube Indeet was organized in Ruhstorf an der Rott on the 5th and 6th of March 2024. The partnership gathered in the Technologiezentrum Energie, a research centre of Landshut University of Applied Sciences focusing on energy research, such biogas and battery technology. With around 15 projects and 40 researchers TZE developed impressive technological demonstrations in battery manufacturing and biomethanation.
Our first steps were to discuss the cornerstones of the work plan and more importantly specifically focusing on how to achieve one of our key results, the Model for effective coupling of electricity, mobility and hydrogen sectors or Danube Indeet Model for short.
The overall scientific concept was introduced by PP10, University of Zagreb Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing. As Mario Vasak, Head of Laboratory for Renewable Energy Systems at the Department of Control and Computer Engineering explained, the model is planned to calculate the optimal investment structure for a system that includes EV chargers and green hydrogen production in the first place, but also a photovoltaic system as a renewable energy source, battery energy storage system, fuel cells for generating electricity from hydrogen, use of residual heat from electrolyser and fuel cells stack, water preparation for electrolysis, as well as hydrogen and oxygen sales. With that in mind, partners will be tasked with collecting data to feed in to the model and use the results obtained to engage stakeholders, validate the model and ultimately, provide local communities with tools for optimal coupling of renewable electricity, e-mobility and hydrogen.
The model and its results will be used in specific regional settings and will be contributing to a joint strategy that unlocks the potential of e-mobility and green hydrogen integration via policy and green infrastructure set-up recommendations, business cases and best practice examples.
We are organizing a webinar to discuss the Danube Indeet Model with our stakeholders, consider subsribing to our newsletter found on the from page!
The overall system optimized by the model.
