Next year's EGU General Assembly will be held 27 April–2 May 2025, both on-site in Vienna, Austria, and virtually.
The EGU General Assembly 2025 (https://egu25.eu/) brings together geoscientists from all over the world to one meeting covering all disciplines of the Earth, planetary, and space sciences. The EGU aims to provide a forum where scientists, especially early career researchers, can present their work and discuss their ideas with experts in all fields of geoscience.
On the initiative of the Danube Water Balance project a section will also be launched for the Danube basin where all applicants with a presentation of their results are welcome:
HS2.1.7 Danube water – past, current and future water resources in a transboundary river system
https://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EGU25/session/51990
Session description:
The Danube River Basin (DRB) is one of the most diverse transboundary river system in the world in terms of the number of countries that share over its territory with different natural, cultural, societal and economic backgrounds. The assessment of quantity and quality of water resources and their changes in such a diverse system requires transnational and interdisciplinary approaches and cooperation.
We welcome contributions demonstrating:
(1) Modeling and inter-comparison of different models for simulating water balance components and water quality including climate change impact studies, sensitivity analyses, uncertainty evaluations.
(2) Evaluation of performance and uncertainty of transboundary datasets of climate and hydrological characteristics, including remote sensing products and climate projections.
(3) Applications supporting sustainable management of transboundary water including water abstractions, water-savings or water retention solutions in agriculture and industry.
The abstract submission deadline is 15 January 2025, 13:00 CET.
Guidelines on how to submit an abstract:

Three participation support schemes have been put in place by the EGU Council to facilitate the widest possible participation in EGU25. Please also see the registration page for details, as you may need to submit your abstract by 13:00 CET on 2 December 2024 if you wish to receive a travel grant:
https://www.egu25.eu/attend/register.html
The success of the event highly depends on the number of abstracts/contributions we will receive.
In order to get as many abstract submissions as possible for this session, I would like to kindly ask you to actively promote the call to your known stakeholders and target organisations.
