Have Your Say: What Does a Better Life in the Countryside Look Like?

As rural areas across the Danube Region continue to face depopulation, ageing populations and a decline in essential services, the Danube4Rural.com project is launching a survey to hear directly from the people who matter most – citizens.

👉 Whether you are already living in the countryside, considering moving there, or feel that rural life is not for you – your opinion counts.

Why are we asking?

The goal of the project is to co-create practical policy ideas for better housing, services, mobility, and overall wellbeing in rural communities. By collecting first-hand experiences and expectations, we can ensure that future measures respond to the real needs of rural residents and newcomers alike.

What do we want to know?

• Would you consider moving to a rural area – and what would convince you?

• If you already live there, what do you enjoy most about rural life – and what do you feel is missing?

• If rural living is not for you, we want to understand why.

Who can participate?

The survey is open to everyone – from families and young people to seniors, entrepreneurs, and remote workers. Every voice matters in shaping the future of rural Europe.
