Collaborative Progress in Hydrology & Flow Measurement – ADCP Comparative Campaign in Vranov nad Dyjí
From May 5th to 7th 2025, a specialized meeting on ADCP comparative measurements and hydrology was held in Vranov nad Dyjí, bringing together experts and institutions from across Europe.
💡 On Monday, participants engaged in in-depth sessions covering:
- Quantitative suspended matter monitoring
- Flood assessment techniques
- Innovations in water flow monitoring instruments, with presentations by - Teledyne RD Instruments and Seba.
🚤 The highlight was the practical ADCP measurement campaign on Tuesday on the Dyje River. Thanks to the stable current ensured by the Vranov dam, a total of 46 ADCP instruments were deployed across five transects (including four cableways and one remote boat-control transect).
🔍 Participating institutions included:
🇦🇹 University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU) Bundesamt für Wasserwirtschaft
🇷🇴 Apele Rom“ne
🇵🇱 IMGW
🇸🇰 SHMÚ
🇨🇿 Český hydrometeorologický ústav Water Catchment Authorities Ohře & Morava
🎯 The objective: Achieve precise flow measurements and enable direct comparison across teams and devices.
🗂️ On Wednesday, a preliminary data review and discussion provided valuable insights into performance and consistency among instruments.
