Co-creation workshop in Hungary

29th October in Szeged at Café Radnóti

The Co-creation Lab of the DECORATOR project was organised on 29th October 2025 in Café Radnóti in Szeged. It brought together 33 SMEs and other stakeholders to conceptualize sustainable construction processes inspired by circular economy and digital advancements.

The target area is located near the shipbuilding and renovation zone in Szeged where EDUPARK operate vocational training centre which shall be further developed in community spaces for sustainable development by circularity principles. The remnants of “Szőke Tisza” ship can also be used as exhibition site and recreational facility as possible extension of the development concept by co-creation and co-ideation of the DECORATOR project.

Good examples of successful design concepts from various locations in Europe were presented and discussed which received several remarks and suggestions therefore the active contributions by the participants to the expert team of the DECORATOR project. The discussed ideas can therefore be used to provide inspiration for the next steps of the co-creation process.

Our goal is to develop a prototype of a digital process using service design and art-based methods to develop a new understanding, meaning, and use of building places. The series of events will continue in the next months by partnership of the cooperating industrial clusters in Szeged. Developed through the subsequent actions of the DECORATOR project to re-thinking building spaces according to green, digital, and social principles, the digital prototype of one selected model-based project will be achieved with constructors, artists, and professionals.
