Construction Innovation Clusters Open Day

Sustainable Places 2025 - Milano + online - 8th October 2025

Open innovation and innovation clusters reduce costs, accelerate development timelines, provide access to funding opportunities, provide testing facilities and living labs, boost competitiveness and reduce time to market.

Organised by the Metabuilding Association, the Open Day was an invitation to stakeholders in the construction sector to learn and discuss open innovation and innovation ecosystems, the role of clustering and networks in the European landscape.

The second part of the event was a mini-brokerage event to discuss ideas and collaboration opportunities for the call topic HORIZON-NEB-2025-01 (New European Bauhaus) with practical advice on how to incorporate the concepts of open innovation and innovation clustering to form a more competitive submission.

Affiliate membership was also introduced which can help SMEs to become part of the European open innovation ecosystem in the construction sector. For the DECORATOR partnership, EDUPARK and DUTIREG were present as coordinators digital innovation hubs and open innovation ecosystems from Hungary.

Cooperation with innovation clusters were initiated with the objective to prepare for the Interreg Danube call which supports lifelong learning by Centers of Vocational Excellence (Strategic Objective 3.2) therefore follow-up of the DECORATOR project can be foreseen this way.
