Pilot Action kick-off event in Germany: 9th May 2025 in Nürnberg
The DECORATOR project was presented to a broad-based audience of experts from the fields of urban development, energy, construction and digitalisation. Together with its project partner Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences, DECORATOR was represented with a themed table focussing on ‘Construction’. The circular transformation approach in the construction sector met with great interest - despite the conference focus on digitalisation in commercial areas, neighbourhoods and energy and mobility strategies. Representatives of the relevant chambers of commerce were particularly interested in the project and were won over as partners and supporters.
In numerous discussions with representatives from local authorities, public utilities, research, business and urban planning, the need for new materials, planning approaches and extended life cycles in terms of sustainable urban development became clear - a central concern of DECORATOR.

Despite the conference focus on digitalisation (including in commercial areas, energy and mobility strategies), the circular transformation approach in the construction industry met with great interest across the board. Topics such as resource efficiency, building information modelling (BIM) and digital building stock data were often identified as interfaces to the DECORATOR project.
A particular success was the approach of representatives of the relevant chambers of commerce, who were won over as potential partners and multipliers for regional implementation. Overall, the personal dialogue provided numerous impulses for the further development of the project and contributed significantly to networking with relevant stakeholders.
