DRWO4.0 National Workshop - Bosnia and Herzegovina
On 27th August 2024, in the inspiring surroundings of Kozara mountain, National Workshop within of the project DRWO4.0, was held in organization of the Agency PREDA. The workshop was attended by various representatives of decision makers at the regional/local level, BSO, the academic community and SMEs.
The workshop presented the impact of the Industry 4.0 concept on the development of wood processing and the furniture industry in B&H focusing on: sustainable development, presenting digital solutions and usage of AI in saw mill production and sophisticated furniture production, and how new life can be “inhaled in lungs” of the obsolete technologies. Participants were introduced to the Institute of Wood Technologies “Selman Selmanagic” and how their experts create the roads toward successful business. The special attention is given creating cross-cutting synergy between two projects financed within Interreg Danube Transnational Programme-DRWO4.0 and SpinIT presenting concept of composite material will be researched and used in future furniture production.
The national workshop concluded with a panel titled “The Individual Path to Industry 4.0” where the main conclusion was brought: there is no custom-made solutions in introducing Industry 4.0 concept, but individual applicable models fits local/regional contexts.
Total project budget is 1.946.560 EUR, and Agency PREDA budget is 92.200 EUR. Co-financing rate is 80%, and project is co-financed by Interreg Danube Transnational Programme.
