DRWO4.0 National Workshop - Romania

On June 14th, 2024, a national workshop was organized under the auspices of the DRWO4.0 project, which aims to transform the wood industry in the Danube Region towards Industry 4.0 standards. This workshop brought together industry stakeholders, policymakers, and technology providers to get them familiar with the DRWO4.0 project and to discuss and strategize on integrating advanced technologies within the wood industry.

Objectives of the Workshop:

•             To disseminate the goals and progress of the DRWO4.0 project.

•             To discuss the challenges and opportunities associated with Industry 4.0 in the wood industry.

•             To foster collaboration among participants and promote knowledge exchange.

•             To identify specific needs and solutions for the wood industry's digital transformation.

The workshop was attended by industry experts and representatives from leading wood manufacturing companies, academics and researchers from renowned institutions, government officials and policymakers, technology providers specializing in Industry 4.0 solutions and representatives from industry associations and non-governmental organizations.

The workshop concluded with a summary of key outcomes and recommendations:

•             Encourage public-private partnerships to share resources and knowledge.

•             Leverage government funding and incentives to mitigate initial investment costs.

•             Promote continuous research and innovation to keep pace with technological advancements.
