DRWO4.0 National Workshop - Serbia

On July 4, 2024, a workshop within the framework of the DRWO4.0 project was held at the Faculty of Forestry in Belgrade, Serbia. The event was organized by the Department of Wood Science and Technology.

The workshop featured presentations from leading experts in the field of Industry 4.0, where participants had the opportunity to learn about various software solutions relevant to the wood industry. The focus was on how these innovations can be applied to the forest-based sector to support digital transformation and sustainable practices.

A panel discussion followed the presentations, involving representatives from numerous companies. The discussion was highly engaging, with participants sharing insights and exploring the challenges and opportunities of implementing Industry 4.0 in the wood industry.

The event gathered 38 participants from both industry and academia, fostering a rich exchange of ideas and collaborative discussions.

The key conclusions from the workshop were: – Companies are ready and interested in digitalizing their operations. – It is necessary to provide subsidies and favorable loans to support the implementation of digitalization in companies.

This workshop is part of the DRWO4.0 project, which aims to drive the transformation of the wood industry across the Danube region towards Industry 4.0.
