A conference about people, bears and coexistence
Members of the ForestConnect team from Bulgaria, Romania, and Slovakia are participating in the EcoBear conference, taking place from October 22nd to 25th in Baile Tusnad, Romania. The conference is bringing together a diverse array of perspectives, competencies, and experiences from various experts across Europe and beyond on the topic of human-large carnivore coexistence. Discussions will focus on practical and viable solutions for reducing human-wildlife conflicts in human-dominated landscapes, including strategies to improve food availability for large carnivores, which align with the objectives of activities A.2.1 and A.2.2. Additionally, we will contribute to discussions on the role of advanced technologies in preventing human-wildlife conflicts under Project Specific Objective 1.
