ForestConnect presentation during the 29th international exhibition "Nature. Hunting. Fishing"
During the 29th international exhibition "Nature. Hunting. Fishing", held on the territory of the International Fair - Plovdiv, within the framework of the presentations and discussions held, part of the accompanying program of the exhibition, the progress of the ForestConnect project was also presented. The presentation was made to a wide range of stakeholders, representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, the Executive Forest Agency, State forest enterprises, the National Hunting and Fishing Association "Union of Hunters and Fishermen in Bulgaria" (NLRS-SLRB), Forestry University - Sofia, Executive Agency for Environment, etc. Data on the progress of the activities carried out, the project partners, the planned activities for the next period and the expected results were presented. At the end of the presentation, opinions were expressed, clarifications were given on the questions that arose in the audience, as well as proposals for future cooperation.
ForestConnect is funded by the transnational cooperation program "INTERREG VI-B Danube Region 2021-2027" and has a duration of 30 months, with the participation of 15 organizations from 7 countries in the Balkans, Carpathians and Dinaric Mountains region. The Executive Forestry Agency is a partner in the project, and the lead partner and project leader of the project is WWF Bulgaria.
One of the goals of ForestConnect is to look for the wide participation of stakeholders in the project activities to share experience and knowledge about large carnivores and improve the connectivity of their habitats at a transnational level.
