GeoNetSee team and Transport Administration of Montenegro Collaborate on Sensor Implementation
On October 14th, a pivotal meeting was held that furthered the collaborative efforts under the GeoNetSee project, aimed at enhancing landslide monitoring and infrastructure preservation in Montenegro. The session convened project partners from MoDrone and the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the University of Montenegro, including Marko Simeunović and Kruna Ratković, alongside Marina Rakočević and Jelena Pejović. They met with representatives from the Transport Administration of Montenegro, an entity responsible for the management, development, and protection of state roads.
During the meeting, supported by hosts Radomir Dado Vuksanović, the director of the Transport Administration, and Miodrag Bakrač, focus was on the presentation of the GeoNetSee project. Discussions delved into identifying specific sites for pilot implementations, highlighting Ratac, Dobrakovo and Ðurđevina as prime locations. Additionally, representatives from the Transport Administration proposed other potentially significant sites for monitoring, such as Kruče in Ulcinj and Provalija in Žabljak, further expanding the scope of the project.
The core aim of the gathering was to collectively identify and define the best locations for testing the GeoNetSee system of sensors. This initiative is crucial for the safety and preservation of infrastructure in Montenegro, particularly in light of the country's landslide issues. The expertise and insights of the Transport Administration are expected to significantly contribute to selecting the most suitable sites, thereby ensuring the successful implementation of the project and enhancing national landslide monitoring capabilities.
We extend our gratitude to all participants for their active collaboration and support, which are vital for the progress and success of the GeoNetSee project.
