Decarbonization of District Heating Systems in Bosnia
"Decarbonization of District Heating Systems" organized by Aarhus Center BiH and Univerzitet u Tuzli - University of Tuzla, which brought together experts from the energy sector, academia and public utility companies.
The event presented studies and technical solutions related to the decarbonization of the heating system of the University Campus, hybrid heating systems for nearly zero-energy buildings, the application of photovoltaic systems, as well as an overview of the functioning of district heating in Tuzla.
CEE Bankwatch Network presented good practices against the current trends of unsustainable biomass use in district heating systems in the Western Balkans, and a panel discussed key challenges of decarbonization, integration of proposed solutions and obligations arising from EED, RED and related regulations.
In the second part of the day, a technical exchange was organized between DOO "Grijanje" Pljevlja and Centralno grijanje d.d. Tuzla, focused on network optimization, adaptation to low-temperature systems, billing methodology and SCADA monitoring.
