REHEATEAST launches an interactive platform showcasing District Heating and Cooling Sector Insights

We’re excited to share with you that the REHEATEAST project has launched a groundbreaking visualization platform offering a comprehensive analysis of the district heating and cooling (DHC) sector across eight Central and Eastern European countries.

The platform, now accessible online at reheateast.neuzrt.hu, serves as an innovative tool for stakeholders to explore key data and best practices at national, regional, and utility levels.

Participating countries in the REHEATEAST project include Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, and Slovenia. Extensive data collection efforts have resulted in a rich dataset encompassing utility-level statistics, regional trends, and country-wide insights. This enables users to understand the structure, challenges, and opportunities present in the DHC sector throughout the region.

The platform features interactive visualizations that allow for easy comparison across different geographical and operational levels — from the entire REHEATEAST region down to individual utilities. It also highlights numerous best practices identified during the analysis, providing a valuable reference for policymakers, energy planners, and utility operators seeking to improve energy efficiency and sustainability in heating and cooling systems.

This platform is a significant step forward in making complex energy data accessible. Whether you are a policy advisor, a utility manager, or an interested citizen, this tool enables a deeper understanding of how district heating is evolving in our region.

Stakeholders are encouraged to explore the platform and leverage its insights to drive informed decisions and foster collaboration in the transition toward more sustainable energy systems.
