Synergy building and best practices presented during the 2nd Interregional Partner Workshop in Moravske Toplice

During the 2nd Interregional Meeting of REHEATEAST partners had not only come together to discuss the implementation of the project with the partners and the associated strategic partners but also to listen to other experts regarding district heating and cooling.

Partners and ASPs had insights on Slovenia's one of the few geothermal district heating located in Lendava. Bits and pieces were shared on the operation of the heating centre presented by Matej Prkič Tehnical Manager. Petrol Geoterm d.o.o, Lendava.
Štefan Žohar from LEAPOM detailed the insights of the Paraffin based latent heat storage system in connection with the geothermal DHS in Lendava, a project, implemented within the framework Central Europe's Store4HUC project finalised in 2022.

The Danube GeoHeCo project – Fostering the implementation of shallow Geothermal hybrid Heating and Cooling systems in the Danube Region - was introduced by Danijela Vrtarić, assistant director at Medjimurje Energy Agency Ltd., from the Lead Partner. The main objective of Danube GeoHeCo project is to increase the penetration of shallow geothermal energy in the Danube Region through initiating a robust transnational cooperation of promotion and support actions. The purpose of proposed activities is to achieve ambitious EU energy and climate targets by 2030 and consequently 2050. The project will foster the integration of shallow geothermal solutions into existing fossil-fuel based domestic HC systems, raise awareness and enhance capacities.

Building on the synergies identified, these projects will maximize and combine the outcomes achieved by both projects.  This event has created an opportunity for collaboration between the Danube GeoHeCo and  REHEATEAST projects and established lasting professional connections that could foster future partnerships and new project ideas.
