New European Bauhaus and Future Materials in the Focus of the RTIT>> Training and Networking Event

RTIT Sutomore

Organized by IPC Tehnopolis within the RTIT>> project, the two-day training and networking event held on 18–19 May 2026 brought together representatives of businesses, academia, creative industries and innovation support organizations with the aim of fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange across the Danube Region.

Through presentations, case studies, interactive workshops and networking activities, participants explored opportunities for strengthening innovation capacities and developing future research and innovation initiatives.

A special focus was placed on the principles of the New European Bauhaus and the role of sustainable, bio-based and advanced materials in creating solutions that combine sustainability, aesthetics and functionality. Participants were introduced to inspiring examples from architecture, design and creative industries, including the Montenegrin Pavilion at the Architecture Biennale, “Terram intelligere: INTERSTITIUM”, as well as the “MOCK-UP / JUNK LAB” initiative, which showcased the potential of waste as a resource for innovation and experimentation.

The programme also highlighted future materials and European best practices, with particular attention given to additive manufacturing and the ways in which bio-based and sustainable materials can support design and innovation aligned with New European Bauhaus principles. Discussions focused on their potential applications within Montenegrin SMEs, creative industries and research activities.

Through collaborative sessions and structured networking, participants identified common challenges, opportunities and potential areas for cooperation, laying the groundwork for future projects and the further development of the RTIT>> know-how community.

The event once again demonstrated the importance of connecting stakeholders from research, business and creative sectors in order to accelerate innovation and contribute to a more sustainable and resilient future.
