Applications open for: Strategic Uses of Intellectual Property in Modern Businesses

The workshop “Strategic Use of Intellectual Property in Modern Business”, intended for companies and individuals who want to understand how intellectual property can become a tool for strengthening competitiveness, stimulating innovation and long-term growth, will be held on December 19 at 11:00.

Applications are open to companies from the materials sector, but also to all interested parties from other sectors, academia, research teams and innovation environments.

Through a practical approach and examples from various industries, the workshop will demonstrate how patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets can function as business assets that contribute to development, strengthening market position and investment readiness. Participants will learn how a well-designed IP strategy can support a business model, accelerate innovation processes and strengthen the negotiating position in collaborations and partnerships.

Special emphasis will be placed on the application of intellectual property in the materials sector, with recommendations and methodologies that are equally applicable in other sectors.

The workshop will be led by Dr. Nedeljko Milosavljević (PhD, RTTP), an expert in technology transfer and building innovation ecosystems with more than ten years of experience in connecting academic research and industrial needs. During his tenure as director of the Technology Transfer Center of the University of Belgrade (2011–2023), he worked on the development of knowledge valorization strategies, intellectual property management and technology commercialization. Co-founder of deep-tech startup Dr. Knight, and through his work at Labena Ventures and Founder Institute Serbia, he mentors startups and encourages industrial-academic collaborations in the field of biomedicine, materials, mobility and green technologies.
