The RTIT: Knowhow Communities for Accelerating RTI Transfer in the Danube Region project supports innovation in the field of sustainable, bio-based, and advanced materials by connecting SMEs, research organizations, and stakeholders across the Danube Region through targeted knowledge transfer and demonstration activities.
The field of mentioned materials are consisting of:
Sustainable Materials: Focus on materials derived from renewable biological sources, such as agricultural or forestry by-products, including bio-polymers, mycelium-based composites, and natural fibers. This group addresses SMEs working on sustainable alternatives to fossil-based materials with clear application potential in packaging, construction, or product design.
Bio-based Materials: Focus on materials derived from renewable biological sources, such as agricultural or forestry by-products, including bio-polymers, mycelium-based composites, and natural fibers. This group addresses SMEs working on sustainable alternatives to fossil-based materials with clear application potential in packaging, construction, or product design.
Advanced Materials: Limited to specific advanced material applications relevant to participating countries: e.g., smart and functional fibers, coatings for agriculture and industry, lightweight and hybrid composites, self-healing construction materials. Excludes nanomaterial R&D unless tied directly to one of these application.
