Workshop on analytical methods for water monitoring - Announcement

It is a pleasure to invite you to Workshop on Analytical Methods for Water Monitoring of the project Tethys: Coordinated Danube Action for the titanic endeavour of tackling hazardous substances water pollution under changing pressures, challenges and targets.

The event will take place on 1st and 2nd of October, 2024 on-line. Workshop is organized by Water Research Institute, Bratislava, Slovakia.

This workshop marks the initial phase of a project activity aimed at supporting laboratories in the development and improvement of analytical methods for water monitoring, focusing on priority and other hazardous substances, particularly PFAS and selected pharmaceuticals. The project activity includes this workshop and a subsequent interlaboratory comparison study to identify challenges in PFAS analysis, scheduled for early 2025. The findings from this study will inform a follow-up workshop aimed at enhancing analytical method quality, planned for early summer 2025. In the fall of 2025, a second round of interlaboratory comparison study/proficiency test will be conducted to evaluate the improvements in analytical methods used.
