Newsletter - July 2026

Welcome to the final edition of our Back on Track newsletter!

Dear friend,

After an inspiring and impactful journey, the Back on Track project is coming to an end. Over the past years, partners from across the Danube Region have worked together to improve support for young people who are not in employment, education or training (NEETs), strengthen mentoring approaches, and promote international cooperation among professionals.

As we conclude the project, we would like to reflect on what we have achieved together, highlight the resources that will remain available, and thank everyone who contributed to making Back on Track a success.

Back on Track in Numbers

Connecting professionals across Europe

Our project created valuable opportunities for international exchange and cooperation.

A total of 268 professionals participated in three international conferences, bringing together experts, practitioners and stakeholders from across Europe to exchange knowledge and good practices.

Supporting young people

More than 500 NEETs took part directly in project activities, including:

170 participants joined the Digital Remote Career Fair, connecting with potential employers and exploring career opportunities.
365 participants took part in Mental Health Awareness activities, strengthening their awareness of mental well-being and resilience.
282 participants contributed to our research study, helping us better understand the situation and needs of NEETs across the Danube Region.
51 participants completed a multi-month mentoring programme, receiving personalised support and guidance.

Strengthening mentoring practice

To build sustainable mentoring structures and improve project quality, we also organised:

• 24 mentoring workshops
• Numerous individual mentoring sessions
• 80 peer review groups, where NEETs and experts provided direct feedback to help improve our activities and project outputs.

These numbers reflect not only participation, but also the commitment, collaboration and shared learning that defined the Back on Track project.

Looking Ahead: Our Results Remain Available

Although the project has officially ended, its results will continue to support organisations, professionals and young people across Europe.

All project outputs, publications and practical resources remain freely available in the Back on Track results section on the project website.

Among the key results are:

• The Back on Track e-learning platform, offering 175 hours of online learning, will remain accessible for professionals who wish to expand their knowledge and skills.
• The Mentoring Programme Guidelines, developed throughout the project, are openly available for organisations that wish to establish or further develop mentoring programmes in their own countries.
• Training materials, publications and additional project resources can be freely used, shared and adapted to continue supporting NEETs.

We encourage everyone to make use of these resources and continue building on the project’s achievements.

Thank You for Being Part of Back on Track

The success of Back on Track would not have been possible without the dedication of our project partners, associated organisations, experts, mentors, stakeholders and, most importantly, the young people who shared their experiences and actively participated throughout the project.

Your commitment, ideas and collaboration have made a lasting contribution to improving support for NEETs across the Danube Region.

On behalf of the entire Back on Track partnership, thank you for being part of this journey.

Although the project has come to an end, we hope the connections, knowledge and inspiration created over the past years will continue to grow. Stay connected with our partner organisations, continue using the project results, and help us ensure that the impact of Back on Track lives on.

Thank you, and let’s stay in touch!
