Innovation in Action: Transforming Home Care Across the Danube Region

From January 28 to 30, Sarajevo became a hub of innovation as our Caring Communities partners from nine countries across the Danube Region gathered for the first module of the Transnational Innovation Program (TIP)—a groundbreaking initiative in home care innovation.

Blending Theory with Practice

Over the course of three dynamic days, participants explored new approaches like Design Thinking, collaborated on scalable home care solutions, and exchanged cross-border insights. The event wasn’t just about learning—it was about applying innovation in real-world settings.

A highlight of the program was a visit to the Center for Healthy Aging, organized by our partner Mozaik Foundation. This experience demonstrated how small-scale innovations can have a big impact on improving the quality of life for the elderly.

Key Takeaways from Our Participants

🔹 “Working in two languages with colleagues from different countries was eye-opening—it brought fresh perspectives to our work!”
🔹 “Letting go of favorite ideas is tough but necessary. The best idea isn’t always the right solution!”
🔹 “The testing methodology really stood out to me. I’m inspired to engage more with social care facilities and key stakeholders.”
🔹 “Excited to collaborate with Romanian partners on new challenges and programs!”
🔹 “Mentorship is crucial for innovation—we need to strengthen it!”

What’s Next?

With the first module successfully completed, we’re now gearing up for the next phase of the Transnational Innovation Program. Together, we’re shaping the future of quality home care across the Danube Region!
