Croatian Advocacy Campaign
The implementation of the project CultHeRit, which is co-financed as part of the Interreg Danube Region Programme, is coming to an end. On this occasion, on Friday, May 29, 2026, we gathered experts, partners and stakeholders at the key Advocacy campaign in the MUO Gallery.
The main goal of the CultHeRit project is to find a solution to the pressing problem of the outflow of young experts from the cultural heritage sector (CHIM) and to create better and more sustainable employment conditions within the Danube region.
In the introductory part, dr. sc. Vesna Lovrić Plantić presented the results of the CultHeRit project, which was followed by a discussion moderated by the Director of MUO and member of the CultHeRit project Steering Committee, Sanjin Mihelić.

The discussion was attended by Anita Končar, Head of the Information and Digital Communication Department of the GUKCD, dr. sc. Darko Babić, Associate Professor at the Department of Information and Communication Sciences, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb, Jesenka Ricl, Senior Curator and Pedagogist at the Museum of Slavonia, also a member of the KSG, Andrea Gerenčer, Head of PR at MUO, and members of the CultHeRit team – Vesna Lovrić Plantić, Vedrana Ceranja and Marija Jurkić Flis.

Key topics we discussed:
• Competitiveness in the market: Should the cultural sector compete with creative industries and the private labor market?
• The future of institutions: What should cultural institutions look like, adapted to the new generation of experts?
• Employment policies and staff retention
• Internship and mentoring
• The gap between education and real work in culture.
