CultHeRit Transnational Strategy for Improving Access to Jobs and the Job Market in the CHIM Sector in the Danube Region

The CultHeRit project works to strengthen the Cultural Heritage Institutes and Museums (CHIM) sector by improving young professionals’ access to CHIM sector institutions and their retention. CHIM sector actors, including national institutes, are essential as they act as methodological and professional anchors, particularly in conservation, documentation, and regulatory processes. As such, they can play an important role in strengthening youth engagement in the field.

Young people are essential for preserving cultural heritage, today and in the future. Yet they are not sufficiently connected to the cultural heritage and have difficulty accessing institutions in the CHIM sector. Furthermore, young professionals working in the CHIM sector face significant challenges. CultHeRit aims to change that, and this transnational strategy for the Danube Region is designed to provide guidance for action at a regional level.

The Transnational Strategy provides a brief overview of the CHIM sector, focuses on the context of CHIM sector institutions (internal and external), and articulates strategic action areas and related objectives. The strategy concludes with a few governance and process recommendations to support the CultHeRit partners and KSG members in organizing their continued engagement.
