D-CLEAN Partner Meeting & First Year Review in Szolnok, Hungary

The D-CLEAN partnership recently gathered in Szolnok for an inspiring Second Partner Meeting and First Year Review, kindly hosted and excellently organised by Kotivizig – Middle Tisza District Water Directorate.

Project partners came together to reflect on the overall progress and achievements of D-CLEAN during its first year, while also shaping the direction for the next phase of the project.

Highlights from the meeting include:

A comprehensive discussion on project status and planning for the upcoming project period
The First Year Review Meeting with the Joint Secretariat of the Danube Region Programme, focusing on both technical and financial progress
An engaging D-CLEAN GIS Tool training workshop, strengthening partners’ technical capacities
A memorable bicycle ride to the Szolnok Flood Protection Training Center and Water Museum, combining learning with local insights
A study tour to the Hungarian pilot area of KÖTIVIZIG, including a visit to the modernised Mezőtúr wastewater treatment plant Beyond the formal agenda, the event provided a perfect opportunity to connect with partners, exchange ideas, and enjoy meaningful conversations outside of daily project management routines.

Together, we are moving forward to improve wastewater and stormwater management in the Danube River Basin, with a strong focus on sustainable solutions Hashtag for small settlements.
