Focus groups and Survey on digital travel information services
As part of the DANOVA NEXT project, focus groups and a survey have been conducted to evaluate the accessibility of data and digital travel information services provided by transport authorities. These efforts align with the project's goal of defining and establishing a Smart Transport Network that ensures inclusivity for all users.
A two-fold approach has been implemented:
Live Focus Group Meetings
Ten transport partners (LP, APM, SIA, BUD, ISAIC, CSCC, DPB, MOM, PPA, POK) organized in-person focus groups with relevant stakeholders. In cases where the number of transport authorities was limited, additional stakeholders and PRM users were invited to discuss the accessibility of digital travel information services (DTIS). During these sessions, presentations on the project’s achievements were delivered, followed by workshops addressing accessibility challenges across different transport modes. Participants were encouraged to complete a structured questionnaire on-site, which was later inputted into an online survey. The focus groups were successfully conducted throughout February.
This occasion served as an opportunity to present results of the DANOVA NEXT project activities towards establishment of the Smart Transport Network:
DANOVA NEXT Toolkit – allowing for self-assessment of the transport facilities
Answering to a set of carefully designed questions, transport operators can learn of the areas that need different level of interventions and receive personalised suggestions, aiming at the improved accessibility level.
DANOVA NEXT Inventory of Digital Tools
The Inventory of Digital Travel Information Tools (DTSI), represents a comprehensive effort undertaken as part of the DANOVA NEXT project to identify and assess digital tools relevant to improving travel accessibility for persons with disabilities. The primary purpose of this inventory is to establish a robust foundation for the development of the DANOVA NEXT application.
Online Survey for Transport Authorities
All project partners distributed a questionnaire to local, regional, and national transport authorities to gather broader feedback on the accessibility of digital tools. Partners from the same country coordinated their efforts to ensure comprehensive engagement. The survey remained open until February 13, 2025, and transport authorities were strongly encouraged to participate within the given timeframe.
We have received 55 responses and a summary report The Results of the Accessibility of Digital Tools – Questionnaire for Transport Authorities has been prepared.
These activities mark a significant step toward improving the accessibility of digital travel services, ensuring a more inclusive and user-friendly transport system.
