Summary of the 3rd TWG Meeting
On Thursday, 7th November 2024, the DANOVA NEXT project held its third and final TWG Meeting virtually, gathering project partners to refine key frameworks aimed at enhancing accessible transportation for all. The workshop addressed two critical topics:
Transnational concept of totally accessible transportation facilities for all passengers: We focused on finalizing a transnational concept that builds upon previous efforts to accommodate diverse accessibility needs. This agenda revisited measures from the prior DANOVA project, which primarily focused on blind passengers, and expanded them to include the needs of deaf and PRM (Persons with Reduced Mobility) passengers. Partners collaboratively reviewed current best practices to create a comprehensive table of measures, broadening our approach to accessibility inclusivity.
Framework for innovation and exploitation of advanced technologies: To support the testing of innovative services, we explored advanced technologies with potential applications in accessible transportation. Each partner contributed examples, fostering a discussion on current and future solutions, which will inform the pilot actions. This collaborative session highlighted technologies that could serve as practical tools in making transport systems more accessible.
In the closing discussion, participants identified their specific needs and proposed steps to facilitate future cooperation and finalize project deliverables in this reporting period. This workshop marked a significant step toward our commitment to developing accessible, innovative, and inclusive transportation facilities.
