5th Partner Project and Steering Committee Meeting of the Danube GeoHeCo Project held in Novi Sad and Fruška Gora region
The 5th Partner Project (PP) and Steering Committee (SCOM) meeting of the Danube GeoHeCo Project was successfully held in Novi Sad on 20–21 May 2026, bringing together project partners from across the Danube Region to review progress and coordinate the final phase of project implementation.
The meeting was organised by PP11 – Regional Economic Development Agency for Šumadija and Pomoravlje and took place at the Cultural Station “Svilara” in Novi Sad (1st day), followed by a study visit to the Mövenpick Resort & Spa Fruške Terme (2nd day), where participants had the opportunity to observe practical applications of geothermal-based solutions in a real-life setting.
Over two working days, partners discussed key management and administrative topics, including financial progress, reporting requirements, and preparation of final project deliverables. Special attention was given to the status of ongoing activities, remaining inputs from partners, and planning of the final reporting phase.
The second day of the meeting included a site visit to Mövenpick Resort & Spa Fruške Terme in Vrdnik, where participants exchanged experiences related to geothermal systems and discussed lessons learned from pilot implementation activities.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment among partners to ensure successful completion of all remaining project activities and further strengthen cooperation in the final phase of the project.
The Danube GeoHeCo project continues to support the development and deployment of shallow geothermal energy solutions as a key contribution to sustainable heating and cooling and the wider energy transition across the Danube Region.
