Presentation of digital platform and IT decision support tool to relevant national stakeholders in Slovakia
On 17th June 2026, a national webinar was held to present and test a digital platform with an integrated virtual marketplace and an IT tool for designing geothermal hybrid heating and cooling systems developed within the Danube GeoHeCo project. The webinar was organized by the Slovak Center for Scientific and Technical Information in cooperation with the associated partner the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Technical University of Košice (TUKE)
The aim of the webinar was to present two key digital solutions developed within the project and to enable their testing by relevant stakeholders. Participants were given an overview of the platform's functions, with particular emphasis on the virtual marketplace connecting stakeholders on the supply and demand sides, as well as on the IT tool enabling optimisation and dimensioning of geothermal systems in line with real energy needs.
In addition, the key objectives of the Danube GeoHeCo project were presented, focusing on fostering wider adoption of shallow geothermal technologies in the heating and cooling sector, as well as highlighting the importance of digital solutions in accelerating the energy transition.

The interactive part of the webinar included testing the digital platform, which was presented by a representative of the project partner Forschung Burgenland from Austria. The developed IT tool was presented by a representative of the associated partner TUKE. The feedback from the participants was used to further improve the developed solutions and adapt them to the needs of the market.
As the final project event in Slovakia, the webinar celebrated the achievements of Danube GeoHeCo project while reinforcing the partnerships and knowledge that will continue to support the wider deployment of renewable heating and cooling solutions across the Danube Region.
