Building synergies between projects Danube GeoHeCo and REHEATEAST funded under the Danube Region Programme

On October 15, 2024 Medjimurje Energy Agency Ltd. attended the second interregional workshop organized in the frame of project Building local partnerships for reducing the fossil energy demand of district heating systems in the Eastern Danube Region (REHEATEAST) in Moravske Toplice, Slovenia by Local Energy Agency for Pomurje, with the aim of presenting the project Fostering the implementation of shallow Geothermal hybrid Heating and Cooling systems in the Danube Region (Danube GeoHeCo) and creating synergies between two projects. Following the identified synergies, the mentioned projects will improve their visibility to wider public and, if opportunities allow, will fully utilize and consolidate all the expected results achieved through the implementation of both projects.

The overall objective of REHEATEAST is to find and promote catalytic measures and widely adaptable solutions to the financial and environmental sustainability challenges of district heating and cooling (DHC) systems in the Eastern Danube Region, thus reducing the fossil energy demand while increasing the utilization of renewable energy sources and waste heat.

This event has opened the door to potential collaboration between the REHEATEAST and Danube GeoHeCo projects and ensured establishment of long-term professional relationships that could certainly lead to new partnerships and project ideas in the future.
