European Geothermal PhD Days in Szeged – Danube GeoHeCo pilot site visit
The 16th edition of the European Geothermal PhD Days (EGPD) took place in Szeged, Hungary, in April 2025. The highlight of the closing day of the event was the field day which included a site visit to the Nort 1A Heating Plant of SZETAV – the location of InnoGeo’s Danube GeoHeCo pilot. The event kicked-off with a presentation, during which visitors learned the basics of district heating in Szeged. Afterwards, InnoGeo representatives handed out hard-hats and guided the group to the heating plant, where they participated in yet another informative session highlighting InnoGeo’s geothermal based district cooling pilot. As the final stop of the tour, a visit to the drilling rig was offered. 32 people from 15 countries participated in the field day programme.
